GPS Fund grant application deadlines are bi-annual. The application process is comprised of first submitting this Intent to Apply form 30-60 days prior to the deadline to give the Center background on your potential proposal and amount requested, and then submitting the application itself before the deadline.
Please note that only NEA State and Local affiliates can apply for GPS Fund Grants.
Directions: Please submit your Intent to Apply form 30-60 days prior to the GPS Fund grant application deadline. Submission during this timeframe will allow a Senior Grant Specialist in the NEA's Center for Great Public Schools to make an intial review of your intent form, which may include suggestions to aid in future development of your grant proposal.
Grants Community: Keep up-to-date on NEA's GPS Fund Grants on www.mynea360.org by joining and following the "NEA Grants 4 Great Public Schools" group. In addition to communicating and collaborating with other grantees and applicants, recorded webinars are posted.
Restrictions: Please note that GPS Fund Grants may not be used for:
public relations activities
capital improvements or large equipment purchases
programs or activities covered by other NEA grants or funded with other NEA monies
the hiring of permanent staff positions* (unless there is a commitment from the applicant to support the position(s) in their program budget after the grant term ends).
*Hiring a full-time or part-time term-limited position to manage a Grant is an allowable Grant expense.
