The Westake Village Art Guild (WVAG) is pleased to join the Arts Council of the Conejo Valley in offering 2019 academic scholarships through the “Legacy Scholarship Fund”, enabled by a grant from the Thousand Oaks Arts Festival's residual funds.
The mission of this endeavour is to encourage, in a meaningful way, emerging young artists.
Under the umbrella of the Legacy Scholarship Fund, the WVAG will contribute to support academic scholarship awards to deserving Conejo Valley visual art students that are high school seniors through rising college sophomores.
Eligibility & Entry Requirements
Legal Residence - Greater Conejo Valley.
Currently registered or plan to register in fine art progams at a recognized institution of higher learning.
Images of artwork must be submitted with the application and must be original and created by the applicant.
Application must include a letter of recommendation by a current or past art teacher or director.
250 to 500 word "Statement" by the applicant relative to awards, activities, goals for the future. etc. This should include applicants studies such as workshops, classes, private teachers, etc.
Agreement to liability release for participation
Highly qualified professionals and educators will evaluate each entry based upon many factors with a stong emphasis on the quality of the applicant's artwork.
The top applicants will be invited to participate in "Round 2" where they will present their work in person to the Committee.
APPLICATION DEADLINE: Must be received by March 15, 2019.
The awards will be presented on April 28, 2019 at the Hillcrest Center for the Arts.
