  • Applicants who wish to apply in one or more categories must submit a separate application for each category. Processing fees and images are required for each category

  • Application deadline is March 15, 2025

    Submit three examples (digital images) of your work.

    Photos should be close-ups of individual pieces or sculpture. For each image you upload please fill in the image info box provided below.

    Image files cannot exceed 500KB or height or width greater than 800 pixels. The file format must be JPEG. 

    All artwork must be original. No copies, derivatives or artworks based in any way on other copyrighted or published paintings, photographs or other artist’s works will not be accepted. They must be entirely executed by the applicant.

    The Artists of Colour reserve the right in its sole discretion to decline any works it feels does not meet the above criteria or is obscene or offensive in nature.

    All artists must provide an artist’s bio (150 words or less) and artist headshot.

    Please note, no editing will be done on bios. We will accept the first 150 words only. Your photo must be clear and uncluttered. This is the image that everyone will recognize you by.

    Due to limited space, artists who were in previous shows and who are in good standing must still apply. Application deadline is March 15,2025. All applicants will be notified by March 24, 2025..

    Bio should contain the following information:

     
    Written in the 3rd person
    Your background in this medium (schooling, past projects, shows, awards…)
    What you are working on currently (themes, projects, ideas…)
    Where you live now

  •  CONDITIONS OF EXHIBITING UPON ACCEPTANCE 

    1. All applicants must be 18 years of age or older

    2. All applicants submissions will be juried and all decisions are final

    3.  Your exhibition fees will be due upon your notification of acceptance.

    4. Exhibitors must display and sell only the type of work or items approved by the jury.

    5. Each accepted Artist is designated 12feet or 3.65 metres of wall space.
    6. All submitted Sculptures and 3D works must be accompanied by their own base or pedestal and installed with the artist present.

    7. All applicants will be required to pay a 20% commission to The Artists of Colour  for sales resulting from the show.

    8. Your exhibition fees will be due upon your notification of acceptance.$50 Canadian or $40 US
    9. Insurance for your artwork is the responsibility of the artists. You the artist will be responsible for maintaining suitable insurance for your work. The Artists of Colour, MacKenzie Hall and Cultural Centre and Common Ground Gallery shall NOT be responsible for the loss of or damage to any artwork, no matter what the cause. Entering this competition automatically constitutes your acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.

  • WAIVER AND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

     

    The undersigned exhibitor agrees to hold The Artists of Colour and Volunteers harmless from any and all damage, expense or liability from any injury or damage to any person, including the general public, the exhibitor, its agents or employees or to the property of the exhibitor arising out of the exhibitor’s participation in the exhibition "The Stories We Tell 2025". Recognizing that The Artists of Colour is a nonprofit organization, exhibitor assumes all risk and responsibilities in participating in this event

    The Artists of Colour will not be responsible for any loss or losses incurred by the exhibitor as a result of fire, theft, water, accidents, weather, acts of God or other mishaps or incidents not specifically enumerated herein.

    Recognizing that The Artists of Colour is run by a not-for-profit organization, the exhibitor assumes all risks and responsibilities in participating in this event.
