Applicants who wish to apply in one or more categories must submit a separate application for each category. Processing fees and images are required for each category
Application deadline is March 31, 2023

Submit three to five examples (digital images) of your work.

Photos should be close-ups of individual pieces or sculpture. For each image you upload please fill in the image info box provided below.

If any of your work has been created specifically for this year’s theme “Ya Gotta Have H'Art”, please include an explanation of how your piece is related to the theme.

Image files cannot exceed 500KB or height or width greater than 800 pixels. The file format must be JPEG.

All artwork must be original. No copies, derivatives or artworks based in any way on other copyrighted or published paintings, photographs or other artist’s works will not be accepted. They must be entirely executed by the applicant.

The Artists of Colour reserve the right in its sole discretion to decline any works it feels does not meet the above criteria or is obscene or offensive in nature.

All artists must provide an artist’s bio (150 words or less) and artist headshot.

Please note, no editing will be done on bios. We will accept the first 150 words only. Your photo must be clear and uncluttered. This is the image that everyone will recognize you by.

Due to limited space, artists who were in previous shows and who are in good standing must still apply. Application deadline is March 31,2023. All applicants will be notified by April 4, 2023.

CONDITIONS OF EXHIBITING UPON ACCEPTANCE
1. All selected artists will pay a show fee of $50.00 CAD/$45.00 USD (upon acceptance April 4,2023) Checks to be made out to "The Artists of Colour" mailed to 1435 Radcliff Ave., Windsor, ON N8P 1P3
2. All applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
3. All applicant's submissions will be juried and all decisions are final.
4. Exhibitors must display and sell only the type of work or items approved by the jury.
5. All submitted Sculptures and 3D works must be accompanied by their own base or pedestal.
6. All artwork is to be delivered to Mackenzie Hall Cultural Centre location 3277 Sandwich St W, Windsor ON. The hours of drop off April 22nd 11:30a.m.– 4:30 pm and Monday April 24th 1 – 3 pm (Final day). Art not sold to be removed by the artist, Sunday, May 7th at the close of show or Monday, May 8th between 12- 4 pm.
7. Please note that your works may be photographed for promotional purposes only by The Artists of Colour or media attending the exhibit.
8. Sales are subject to 20% commission and payment of credit card transaction fees incurred.
9. Insurance for your artwork is the responsibility of the artists. You the artist will be responsible for maintaining suitable insurance for your work. The Artists of Colour and MacKenzie Hall and Cultural Centre and Common Ground Gallery shall NOT be responsible for the loss of or damage to any artwork, no matter what the cause. Entering this competition automatically constitutes your acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.

WAIVER AND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

The undersigned exhibitor agrees to hold the Artists of Colour and Volunteers harmless from any and all damage, expense or liability from any injury or damage to any person, including the general public, the exhibitor, its agents or employees or to the property of the exhibitor arising out of the exhibitor’s participation in the exhibition "Ya' Gotta Have Art" April 28, 2023

The Artists of Colour will not be responsible for any loss or losses incurred by the exhibitor as a result of fire, theft, water, accidents, weather, acts of God or other mishaps or incidents not specifically enumerated herein.

Recognizing that The Artists of Colour is run by a not-for-profit organization, the exhibitor assumes all risks and responsibilities in participating in this event.
I, agree to comply with all conditions and regulations of exhibiting in “ Ya’ Gotta Have Art". Non-compliance with these regulations and policies will result in removal from the show without a refund and exclusion from future Artists of Colour exhibitions.*
