  • If you would like to recommend a new vendor for Compass approval, please submit the following information (or send this form to your vendor).

    Please keep the following details in mind:

    • Vendor must have pricing within range or less than what other vendors in the same category are charging
    • Vendor must complete 2 projects to spec to prove they can meet Compass brand guidelines. Compass photography guides live on Nav Center in the Marketing Advisor section under Photo and Video Resources.
    • 25% of agent community in region must actively vouch for this vendor to remain an approved vendor

    No one in the industry vets vendors harder than we do. The Marketing department and production team sources vendors for all Compass markets, trains them thoroughly on Compass style guides, and negotiates standardized rates.

    The team has confirmed a ratio of vendors that are needed in each market relative to Agent count, and monitors Agent recruitment numbers to ensure we're providing enough vendors to meet all needs. We recommend that Agents work with approved vendors to ensure they are receiving the best rates and also to integrate their workflow most seamlessly with the Compass platform.     Why is this the current process for approving vendors?

    By having tighter approved vendor lists in each market we ensure a certain amount of business for our vendors, which helps us negotiate the most competitive project rates for our Agents. For example, in 2017 the team reduced NYC vendor rates by an average of 16.4% for listing photography packages.

    In addition, tighter vendor lists allow to thoroughly train vendors on all style guides and closely monitor their output, ensuring the agents get the top quality products they expect when they come to Compass (while also maintaining our brand standards).
