Inland Northwest Region (INWR) DRIVER EDUCATION
The mission and purpose of the Porsche Club of America's Driver's Education (DE) Program is to provide a safe, structured and controlled teaching and learning environment for the student member with qualified instructors to teach and develop advanced driving skills. The goal of Driver Education is to make each PCA member a more skilled and safe driver after attending one or both of the Drivers Skills (novice) and follow-on Drivers Education (novice through advanced) programs. The INWR manages the two programs (Skills and DE) to ensure that members who choose not to drive on a Race Track (DE) can still learn useful skills that can be used in the daily driving of all automobiles.
The Skills course will make you a safer driver by teaching driving skills and techniques, which enhance accident avoidance capabilities through improved situational awareness and car control in a low-speed, large parking lot venue. The DE course utilizes a Race Track venue together with strict non-racing rules and segregation of student drivers into run-groups of similar ability. Instructors are mandatory for novice student drivers and upon request for intermediate and advanced student drivers.
DE events are non-competitive events meaning there is no timing and scoring, demonstration rides with students and are closely regulated and impose strict rules on the drivers to ensure the safety of the man and machine.
All INWR DE & Skills Events include classroom instruction, one-one instructors, lunch and water. Detailed information on what to bring will be emailed to those who register.
