Health & Safety Protocols: Due to the emergence and spread of the COVID-19 Omicron variant over the last few months, New Members Night will look and feel slightly different than in previous years. Based on current public health guidance, we have identified the following health and safety protocols for New Members Night:
- Everyone attending New Members Night must have received the full series of an approved COVID-19 vaccine or a combination of accepted vaccines at least 14 days prior to the program.
- We strongly encourage that all participants receive a flu (influenza) vaccine before attending New Members Night.
- Everyone attending New Members Night will be asked to complete a COVID-19 self-assessment upon arrival.
- For the safety of all participants, we are requiring that tight-fitting masks be worn over the mouth and nose at all times except when actively eating or drinking. Cloth masks and gaiters are not acceptable. Appropriate masks include 3-layer surgical, KN95, and N95 masks.
- If a participant shows symptoms of COVID-19 or feels sick while at New Members Night, the participant will be quarantined while their family is notified. Families will be responsible for making arrangements for their teen to be transferred to the care of a parent/guardian or a designated emergency contact within 1 hour of being notified.
- Lastly, given the Omicron variant’s contagiousness and the fact that it often presents asymptomatically, we strongly recommend that participants take care in interacting with unvaccinated, immunocompromised, and/or at-risk individuals for several days upon returning home from New Members Night.
