James River Adventures is located at Riveredge Park in Amherst County - directly across the river from Historic Downtown Lynchburg!
Campers will have the opportunity to kayak, canoe, paddle board, and float in tubes on the James River! Our on-the-water explorations engage students with new skills, scientific techniques, and historical insight to better understand and enjoy the James River. Campers will also learn proper paddling techniques and about water safety – all while having fun with friends. Campers will have several opportunities to fish (you may bring your own fishing gear or JRA will supply it), and we will provide lessons on proper fishing techniques, as well as teach about the anatomy of a fish.
Maximum capacity is 20 campers/week. This camp is for rising 3rd to 8th-grade students and runs from 9am - 4pm. Additional extended care is offered for parents who need to drop their students off at 8 am and/or pick up at 5pm
Each week of camp is $250 ($25 for extended care) due at the time of registering. Please use one form per child registered.
