What is John Watson’s Trust?
John Watson’s Trust is a small Edinburgh-based charity that awards grants for educational purposes to children and young people under the age of 21 who have a physical or learning disability or who are socially disadvantaged. John Watson’s Trust is a charity registered in Scotland under charity number SC014004.
Where does John Watson’s Trust operate?
At present, we serve beneficiaries based in Edinburgh, Midlothian, East Lothian or West Lothian. Applications from organisations outwith these areas are eligible if the beneficiaries of a given project reside within them. We are unable to grant every application we receive, as we receive more applications that we have funds to fulfil, but we help wherever we can.
John Watson’s Trust and Organisations
John Watson’s Trust seeks to collaborate in the funding of discrete projects of an educational nature to the benefit of young people whose education is threatened by poverty, illness, disability or other circumstances. We look to collaborate with projects that provide a direct and measurable educational benefit to identified individual young people at ground level, and where the allocation of our funding is specifically laid out.
We do not fund general running costs for organisations. We do not fund staff salaries, wages or costs, as defined by our trustees.
