Program Description:
In 2015, the United States Supreme Court held in the landmark Obergefell v. Hodges decision that the Constitution guarantees the right of same-sex couples to marry as "a fundamental right inherent in the liberty of the person." Since Obergefell, state and federal courts have applied the decision widely, to protect the rights and benefits of married same-sex couples, as spouses and parents.
