Friend of Journalism Nomination Form

PURPOSE: To honor individuals and organizations that have demonstrated support and encouragement of student publications and/or media programs across Pennsylvania. The Friend of Journalism Award is given to an organization that has in some special way contributed to the success of scholastic journalism or to the success of a particular school’s journalism program. Previous winners include Rodale Press for its support of the Emmaus High School journalism program and Herff Jones Publishers for their thoughtfulness in publishing a special memorial supplement to the Montoursville High School yearbook honoring those killed in the Flight 800 tragedy.

NOMINATION PROCESS: Friends of Journalism must be nominated by a PSPA member adviser, a student on a PSPA member publication staff, PSBA board member by completing this JotForm. All supporting materials must be submitted here in digital form. No hard copies of any documents will be accepted.

CRITERIA: The nominator must be a PSPA teacher/adviser/student/board member. The organization or individual honored must support student journalism in Pennsylvania.

APPLICATION PROCESS: The nominator will complete this form and upload all supporting documents in digital form here.

AWARD PROCESS: The Friend of Journalism will receive a plaque at the annual Spring Awards Celebration.
