For highest consideration, application materials must be received by May 15; however, submissions after May 15 will be welcomed and accepted, and all participants will be offered performance opportunities based on availability.
This program is designed to be inclusive and encourage all levels of skill and ability. Any questions, including about audition materials, application submission deadline, etc. should be directed to Jaunelle Celaire: jrcelaire@alaska.edu
New Participants
To be considered for the Opera/Musical Theatre scenes program and the outreach performances, new participants must submit the following:
- A performance resume, to include degree(s), current or recent instructors, and honors or awards you may have received. A headshot or full photo is requested but not mandatory.
- Three recorded pieces, to include one Italian aria, one selection in English (aria or otherwise), and a piece in a contrasting style (e.g. musical theatre or art song). The pieces selected should reflect the styles of music you want to perform. Video recordings are best representative, but audio recordings are accepted. You may send video clips, audio clips, and/or URLs of your performances on YouTube.
- A repertoire list of songs, arias, and other music you are interested in performing.
- A “dream list” of three scenes from opera and/or musical theatre that you would be interested in performing.
- One letter of recommendation from your teacher, coach or other professional in the field that includes information about your musical skills, interpersonal skills and performance prowess.

As always, we give a special welcome to returning singers in the OMT program! While some of the faculty knows you, the new faculty will not. Returning participants are not required to submit a recording, but you are encouraged to do so. Returning participants must submit a resume, list of repertoire and the “Dream List” of scenes.
