Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Friends of Princeton Open Space at the Billy Johnson Mountain Lakes Nature Preserve! Volunteer tasks will change depending on the season, but some examples of possible tasks are trail clearing or cleanup, native planting, removal of invasive plants, and other ecosystem restoration projects in our forest or riparian restoration project sites. We generally host morning or afternoon sessions from 9am-11am or 1pm-3pm, though we can be flexible with the time.
FOPOS's wonderful stewardship staff will be on-hand to guide volunteer groups and explain the impact of our restoration projects. We ask that all volunteers complete a waiver prior to the session. FOPOS provides all of the tools, though we ask volunteers to dress for the woods and to bring a refillable water bottle and work gloves if they have them.
