The Asia Foundation is a nonprofit international development organization committed to improving lives across a dynamic and developing Asia. The Foundation’s Evaluation and Learning Unit (ELU) is committed to advancing monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) in order to better assess results and continuously improve our programs. The ELU works to strengthen Foundation-wide MEL systems and capacity, foster a culture of learning, and advance innovative MEL practices.
The Foundation frequently engages consultants to support program development and implementation needs across 18 countries. Opportunities may be short-term, medium-term, long-term, as well as part-time or full-time. To respond to these needs, the Foundation maintains a database of international development professionals. Successful consultants have relevant graduate level education, significant international experience, and a depth of expertise in one or more of the design, monitoring, evaluation, and learning areas mentioned below.
In addition to technical skills, essential qualifications include: excellent written and spoken English; strong communication skills; ability to work independently with little or no supervision as well as work as part of a team; be results-oriented; and demonstrate cultural sensitivity. Experience throughout Asia is strongly preferred.
