We are so sorry that you are expriencing this. We can understand why this would cause you added anxiety and stress.
We'd like you to consider taking the following 7 steps in order find peace about this situation:
STEP 1: PRAY
Take some time to pray about the problem.
Philippians 4:6 says, "Do not be anxious about anything but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your request be known to God"
Then, discover what God is saying about the problem by searching for scriptures around this topic. You can do this by searching your bible or googling it online.
STEP 2: IDENTIFY YOUR PATTERNS & TRIGGERS
Just about anything can be a trigger: people, places, things...
Additionally your strengths that have helped you to succeed can also become your greatest emotional triggers. When you feel someone is not honoring what makes you special you react.
If you want a different result you must do something different.
Isaiah 43:18-19 says, "Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert."
STEP 3: CHANGE YOUR MINDSET
Make up your mind that you want a different outcome. That internal commitment has the power to alter not only your behavior but your environment and situation. If you don't want to feel something choose to feel something else, if you don't want to experience something, choose to view your experience in a different way. Your circumstance is only as powerful and effective as you let it be.
Proverbs 23:7 - "For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he..."
STEP 4: BE GRATEFUL
Be grateful. Can you think of some things that you have that you can be grateful for?
Scientific evidence shows that expressing genuine gratitude on a daily basis can improve physical health as well as improving quality of sleep, cardiovascular (heart) health and immune function.
STEP 5: ENCOURAGE YOURSELF
One way to show love towards yourself; is to encourage yourself.
Encouraging yourself about this requires that you address the "inner critic". You are in essence talking to yourself. You can do this by having an inner dialogue with yourself, speaking to yourself out loud or keeping a journal.
Also, be comforted in the knowledge that God is all-knowing and in control. He is the creator of the universe and knows what you have need of before you even think it.
Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope."
STEP 6: DO SOME INNER WORK
Let's work on what you CAN change about this situation… yourself.
No one was born "arrived". If you want something, you have to work at it.
Make a list of things you can do to change how you react to this situation to lessen your stress and anxiety.
STEP 7: RESOLVE WITH OTHERS
Try talking to others about this. We suggest talking with the following people:
1. Anyone involved (in order to seek resolve or inform them of changes)
2. A counselor or mentor (it's o.k. to ask for outside help)
3. A friend (they may be able to encourage you)
4. A Pastor or minister (Godly advice is helpful)
Proverbs 11:14 says, "Where there is no guidance, a people falls, but in an abundance of counselors there is safety."
IN CONCLUSION
Here's what we think.
God has already equipped you to resolve this on your own: you have what it takes.
You can handle this!
