Trescott Street Gallery is excited to welcome Boston-area Muralist, Amanda Hill, as the instructor for our next Community Art Class. Amanda’s work ranges from small-scale paintings to building-sized murals and larger-than-life installations. For most of Hill’s adult life, she has been focused on increasing the awareness and the accessibility of the arts. She advocates for the support of creative expression at large and takes a special interest in a community’s ability to make and experience art.
Fun with Spray Paint is a workshop specially designed for youth aged 12 -18. Held on Saturday, June 26th from 1-3 pm, students will learn how to make their own stencils and explore how to use spray paint and other objects as they create their final pieces of art on wood panels. Students will explore layering objects to create interesting shapes and patterns. Pieces will range from abstract to figurative. As part of the class, Amanda will give a brief artist talk about the mural-making process. This class will take place outdoors in the Baron Lofts parking lot. The fee for the workshop is $10 per person and includes all materials.
Parents, please note that students will be using Exacto knives to cut stencils. They will be instructed on how to safely use them and there will be at least 3 adults on site supervising the process. Parents can opt-out of exacto knife use below.
