• 2018-19 UCF SEED Application

Submission Deadline: Monday, June 1, 2018
  • SEED is a peer-led professional development program that promotes change through self-reflection and interpersonal dialogue; it builds capacity for more equitable curriculum, campuses, workplaces, and communities.

    SEED's unique methodology involves:

    • facilitating ongoing, structured, group conversations in which all voices can be heard
    • examining how our own stories relate to social systems
    • learning from the lessons of our own lives as well as from texts
    • turning oppression and privilege into agency and action

SEED participants use their own experiences, and those of their students, to widen and deepen school and college curricula and make communities more inclusive.

SEED values all voices and experiences and recognizes diversity in its many forms including, but not limited to, the traditionally thought of categories such as race, color, ethnicity, religion, sex, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation or ability, to the sometimes less thought of categories such as military service, position classification, primary campus, introversion/extroversion, length of service at UCF, family structure, or political affiliation. All forms of diversity matter and are welcomed in SEED.

For general information about SEED, please visit the national project's website at https://www.nationalseedproject.org/. For questions specifically about UCF's SEED cohort, please contact Rachel Luce-Hitt at rachel.luce-hitt@ucf.edu.
