Y+ contemporary is looking for youth between the ages of 14-18 with an interest in sculpture, installation, and/or performance for our youth residency program, INTERCONNECT.
INTERCONNECT aims to provide youth with the opportunity to work in parallel with emerging artists, learning new skills and gaining an understanding of what it means to be a professional artist. Participants work collaboratively towards the creation and exhibition of their work, learning new techniques, how to develop a body of work, and the process of preparing for an exhibition.
The residency will take place every Sunday from May 20 to June 10, 2018, with an exhibition taking place at Y+ contemporary on Saturday, June 23, 2018. Additionally, the youth residents will have the opportunity to exhibit their work at the Doris McCarthy Gallery vitrines in the summer. Basic supplies will be provided and participants will receive TTC tickets to compensate for travel costs.
Applications are due Friday, May 11, 2018. All applicants will receive a response by Sunday, May 13, 2018.
