  • One reason the Wakefield High School band program is successful is because of the hard work and dedication of parent volunteers. Both the students and the organization appreciate all the time and effort that is given. Whether you work full-time, part-time, or have young children, there are opportunities to volunteer.

    My initials indicate that I accept the following obligations as a parent of a Wakefield High School Band student(s).

    I understand that as a parent of a student in the Marching Band program that I or another family member must work at least one shift during Band Camp or one of the day/evening rehearsals before school starts. A shift is typically 3-4 hours.

  • I understand that as a parent of a student in the Marching Band program, that the total Fair Share amount for participation in the 2018 - 2019 season is $800 for returning students and $860 for first time students. I also understand that once a parent/adult representing the student works at the Heart of Carolina invitational, they will receive a $100 reduction on their final Fair Share payment, reducing the total to $700 for returning Students and $800 for first time students. This year's Heart of Carolina Invitational is Saturday, October 6, 2018

  • I understand that as a parent of a student in the Marching Band program that I or another adult family member must attend at least one work session or volunteer for one of the following committees. Please indicate which committee you would like to volunteer for by clicking next to the committee. The time commitment vaires for each committee.   • I understand that if I am the parent of a color guard student that I may also need to purchase other equipment such as a warm up suit; a rifle and/or saber, hair accessories, and/or make up.

  • I have received the 2018-2019 Wakefield High School Marching Band Fair Share Payment Policies and agree to the payment terms set forth in the document, which includes payment in full by Friday, October 19, 2018. I understand that I must pay a non-refundable deposit of $120 by Friday, May 18, 2018 to reserve my child's spot.

  • My child has my permission to participate in Wakefield High School Marching Band. I understand that all Marching Band activities, including trips, are sponsored by the Wakefield High School Band Boosters in cooperation with the band director. I understand that my child may be sent home, dropped from Wakefield High School Marching Band, or disciplined by Wakefield High School if not following the rules & regulations or instructions by the Wakefield High School Band Boosters.

  • Membership Agreement - Students

  • In order to march at Wakefield High School, members are required to adhere to all of the organizations policies and procedures. Both the student and parent/guardian should read these pages thoroughly. A student and parent must then indicate agreement for each each statement by initialing each statement.

    I understand that attendance is an important part of the membership requirement. I understand that each rehearsal and performance is mandatory. I have a copy of the rehearsal and performance schedule also found on the Band website at: Band Calendar and will eliminate any conflicts. I will notify the Band Director at least 48 hours prior to any scheduling conflict. If an emergency should cause me to be absent, I will notify the Band Director immediately. I understand that I can be withdrawn from membership for unexcused or excessive absences.

  • I understand that my selection into the organization is also based on my professional behavior.

    This specifically means my positive approach and attitude towards others. I understand that cursing and vulgar language is not accepted at anytime during my membership in the Wakefield High School Band program. I understand that I may be withdrawn from the Wakefield Band program should I break this policy, without refund of any Fair Share payments made or credited.

    I understand that if I break the law during my membership with the Wakefield High School Band that I will be withdrawn from membership without refund and any Fair Share payments or credits.

    I understand that I may be sent home, dropped from the Wakefield High School Band, or disciplined by Wakefield High School for not following the rules and regulations or the instructions of the Wakefield High School Band Booster parent(s) or Band Director.

  • Paper Forms Submittal

  • I understand that I must submit the WPCSS Parental Consent and Emergency Information for School Trips form by May 11, 2018 in order to participate in band camp and any later Wakefield High School Marching Band activities.

  • Uniform Attire

  • I understand that I am to wear athletic shorts and a white T-shirt with running style tennis shoes to all rehearsals. No bathing suits of any kind in adherence to Wakefield High School and WCPSS dress codes on and off campus.

    I understand that I am to wear appropriate attire as assigned by the band director for all football games.

    I understand that I am to wear black athletic shorts, show shirt (warm weather) or black long sleeved shirts/pants (cold weather) under my uniform as there will be times I will need to chagne in and out of my band uniform on the bus or in small rooms.

  • I understand that I will be asked and expected to work at the Heart of Carolina Marching Band Invitational and the clean-up session the following day.
