Tuition for I Can Excel (ICE) is on a sliding scale from $200-575 depending on income and household size.
New York City defines a poverty level that is higher than the federal government due to the high cost of living. To determine our sliding scale brackets, we have taken the New York City poverty level and applied the same percentages that the federal government uses to determine eligibility for free and reduced-priced lunch, just using the New York city numbers.

- a benefit budget letter indicating income
If you choose not to provide proof of income, tuition is $575.
What discounts are available?

What does my tuition cover?
It costs FSH more than $6000 per year per child to run our programs. We are able to offset more than 95% of this cost through the efforts of our CEO, development team, and generous supporters. However, families are also asked to pay a nominal tuition fee and to participate in additional fundraising at the Winter Skating Party. Tuition and family fundraising raise about 4-5% of FSH's operating budget each year.
However, in exchange, each participant receives:
- a team uniform
- skates with bag and soakers to use for their time in the program
- 8-12 hours of academic tutoring and skating instruction each week
- a costume for the Ice Show
- Cultural Trips
- School Transition, Independent School, and College Counseling
- and more!
How do I pay tuition?
Tuition and fees can be paid using a credit card, bank check, or money order only.
FSH does not accept cash or personal checks.
Payments can be made online at https://figureskatinginharlem.org/parentportal/ (password FSH)
