Stacey Mckinney
Q: Please describe why are you interested in becoming a member of the COTA Board of Directors:
I've actually been serving on the COTA Board for the last two years, and one of my primary focuses moving forward is to help overhaul the existing Trails Stewardship program. Another is to ensure that COTA is a solid partner for Bend Parks & Rec District to help advocate for the Bike Park being built at Big Sky Park.
Q:Describe your experience serving on a Board of Directors or comparable experience:
Again, I've actually been serving on the COTA Board for the last two years, and we've been making huge strides including implementing a Strategic Plan and over-hauling the Trail Stewardship program. I'd like to continue this momentum and help the organization continue to grow sustainably and in an organized fashion.
Q:Please note any experience you have overseeing groups of volunteers or other groups of people:
In addition to COTA work events, I teach mountain bike courses that have around 7-10 participants. So, I'm familiar with group dynamics and how to connect with participants. Professionally, I have filled various project management roles which often require management of smaller teams of people.
Q:Describe any experience you have in trail design, construction and maintenance including safety, education, stewardship, public outreach, and advocacy:
Serving on the COTA Board for the last two years has provided several avenues to participate in several local mountain bike advocacy issues including ebikes, Wilderness designations, and user group conflicts. As far as trail maintenance, I've take quite a few COTA Trail maintenance trainings, and have participated in countless trail work days. In addition, I currently coordinate COTA's large Trail Work Events and Volunteers.
Q:Describe any other skills that you may bring as a member of the Board of Directors (ex. financial, GIS, etc):
Highly organized, people skills, computer skills, etc.
