PAYMENTS: Payment is due up front before the start of the 8-week session. Classes are $10 each depending on the number of participants and we will go for 8 weeks with one free make up class. I accept PayPal or checks made out to Mary Timone..
REFUND POLICY: I am holding this class based on the number of participants I get in order to pay for the Community Center fee. Since I need a certain amount of folks participating in order to run the class there are no refunds.
MISSED CLASSES: All sessions will be for 8 weeks long (8 classes) and there may be a few brakes in there for holidays which I will let you know ahead of time. If you must miss a class, it is not my responsibility to make it up for you. Missed classes are on you and not refundable, however I will always offer one FREE make up class most likely on another week night of the last week of the session. I will make every effort to accommodate everyone on this.
CANCELLATIONS: If for some reason I had to cancel a class for unforeseen circumstances I will schedule a make up class at the end of the last session or for another time that accommodates the majority. There may be an occasional case where the Community Center has a major event going on and we would either have to move to a different day/night that week or add another class on at the end of the 8-week session. Either way I will accommodate.
CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY BREAK: There will be no classes the week of December 25.
CELL PHONE POLICY: You must be willing to unplug from electronics if you want to do this class. I am VERY strict about no cell phones in the workout area. My goal is for you to give yourself 55 min of UNINTERRUPTED focused attention to your workout. For your safety, and to avoid distraction, cell phones are not permitted around your mat or in the workout area. If you bring a phone to the workout area I will ask you to put it in my phone locker until the last cooldown song is over. I prefer that you leave it in your car. You are welcome to sync your messages on SILENT to your apple watch or Garmin. If you are a doctor on call please bring your pager not your phone. If you feel you must go to your phone from my locker for any reason, you must take it outside the workout area to talk or text.
CHILDREN UNDER 10 are not allowed in class because of liability reasons. Children 11 and over must be paid class participants in order to be in class.
(PAR-Q: SECTION 1 OF 2)
Regular physical activity is fun and healthy, and increasingly more people are starting to become more active every day. Being more active is very safe for most people. However, some people should check with their doctor before they start becoming much more physically active.
If you are planning to become much more physically active than you are now, start by answering the seven questions in the box below. If you are between the ages of 15 and 69, the PAR-Q will tell you if you should check with your doctor before you start. If you are over 69 years of age, and you are not used to being very active, check with your doctor. Common sense is your best guide when you answer these questions. Please read the questions carefully and answer honestly.
Choose YES or NO for each of the following questions:
(PAR-Q: SECTION 2 OF 2)
If you answered YES to one or more questions from above:
Talk to your doctor by phone or in person BEFORE you start becoming much more physically active or BEFORE you have a fitness appraisal. Tell your doctor about the PAR-Q and which questions you answered YES.
*You may be able to do any activity you want – as long as you start slowly and build up gradually. Or, you may need to restrict your activities to those which are safe for you. Talk with your doctor about the kinds of activities you wish to participate in and follow his/her advice.
If you answered NO to all questions:
If you answered NO honestly to all PAR-Q questions, you can be reasonably sure that you can:
*Start becoming much more physically active – begin slowly and build up gradually. This is the safest and easiest way to go.
*Take part in a fitness appraisal – this is an excellent way to determine your basic fitness so that you can plan the best way for you to live actively.
Delay becoming much more active:
*If you are not feeling well because of a temporary illness such as a cold or a fever – wait until you feel better; or
*If you are or may be pregnant – talk to your doctor before you start becoming more active.
Please note: if your health changes so that you then answer yes to any of the above health questions, tell your health or fitness professional. Ask whether you should change your physical activity plan.
