Completing this application is a step in the process of acquiring a puppy from Elsbeth's Chihuahuas, but it does not guarantee you will get a puppy from this or any future litter. While it's unlikely, the breeder reserves the right to refuse any placement at any time. And the owner reserves the right to keep the pick of the litter.
ONE-YEAR HEALTH GUARANTEE: Our puppies are guaranteed for one year from congenital health defects, but the puppy must be inspected by your vet within 72 hours of pick up or delivery for this guarantee to remain valid. Your puppy will be vet checked and come with at least the first set of shots and wormings. What this warranty will not cover is coccidia or Giardia. Some puppies are born with one of these intestinal parasites from their mother, and it lies dormant unless triggered. Triggers can be stress-related, from going to a new home or changes in diet. If the puppy develops diarrhea, take them to your vet immediately. This warranty will also not guarantee against hypoglycemia (low blood sugar). It is important for the new puppy owner to keep food and water available 24/7 for the puppy, especially one under 6 months old, and to educate themselves about the Chihuahua breed and known health issues, and how to handle them. This warranty will not guarantee against any injuries to the puppy while out of our care. Should the puppy die of unknown causes, it is the responsibility of the buyer to have a licensed veterinarian perform a Necropsy on the puppy to determine the cause and provide complete results to my vet. All fees regarding this procedure are the responsibility of the buyer. If the results conclude that the puppy died from issues that could be traced back to a congenital defect, then we will issue a full refund of the purchase price. We reserve the right to have our veterinarian confirm the results of the Necropsy.
GOING HOME: We cannot hold puppies for extended periods of time; it is critical for their social development that the litter departs within a reasonable timeframe. If you have a big vacation planned or events that would conflict with a young puppy, please note that puppies cannot be boarded in a kennel until two weeks after they have received their full immunizations and rabies vaccination, which cannot be done until they are at least four months of age. In the case of very small Chihuahuas, they may be 6+ months of age before they're able to get their rabies vaccination. Please plan accordingly.
CONTRACT: There will be a contract sent once the deposit is paid, and we will not place a puppy without a signed contract. This application and contract will become the documents used to determine our obligations to each other, so there are no questions later. If you have questions about specific terms, you need to contact us prior to picking up your puppy.
