SKT does not provide transportation services and is not a transportation carrier. It is up to independent, third party drivers or vehicle operators to offer transportation services that are arranged through use of our services. SKT offers information and a method to arrange such third-party transportation services but does not provide transportation services or act in any way as a transportation carrier and has no responsibility or liability for any transportation services provided to you by such third parties.
ANY DISPUTE OR CLAIM RELATING IN ANY WAY TO THIS AGREEMENT OR YOUR ACCESS TO OR USE OF THE SITE, APPLICATION OR SERVICES OR YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH SKT WILL BE GOVERNED AND INTERPRETED BY AND UNDER THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON, CONSISTENT WITH THE FEDERAL ARBITRATION ACT, WITHOUT GIVING EFFECT TO ANY PRINCIPLES THAT WOULD OTHERWISE PROVIDE FOR THE APPLICATION OF THE LAW OF ANY OTHER JURISDICTION. THE UNITED NATIONS CONVENTION ON CONTRACTS FOR THE INTERNATIONAL SALE OF GOODS IS EXPRESSLY EXCLUDED FROM THIS AGREEMENT.
Rides are based on the availability of drivers active during the needed time frame. If there is no driver available SKT will notify families at least 6 hours prior to requested pick-up time. Booking fees are non-refundable, as are all prepaid fares, company credit to be used towards a future ride will be issued. SKT reserves the right to refuse service to anyone at any time.
Persons must be 18 years of age to create a booking on any of our platforms, i.e. Application or via web(www.startransportation.net).
There are specific cancellation windows for any Ride and you will be charged if you fail to show and fail to cancel the reservation within the cancellation window. For rides scheduled 15-25 hours prior to the pick-up time can cancel 13 hours prior to the scheduled ride pick-up time. This means the registrant has 2 hours after the booking to cancel without penalty. If it was booked 26 hours prior to scheduled pick-up time the arranger must cancel ride 24 hours before the scheduled pick-up time.
If the rides are not canceled within the time frames specified, the registrant will be responsible for anywhere from 25%-100% of the fare depending on the reasoning and time in which the ride was cancelled. For rider no shows the registrant will be charged the full fare.
All riders must be in the vehicle 3 minutes from the driver’s arrival or a standing fee of 2.00/min will be charged to the registrant up to 6 minutes, after 6 minutes the driver can cancel the ride and the registrant will not be refunded nor will a credit be given for the cancelled ride. In addition, if the ride is cancelled in lieu of the standing fee a cancellation fee of 20.00 will be charged to the registrant, this is in addition to the non-refundable fare.
We always encourage our drivers to arrive on time, but there are unfortunately some things that can cause a driver to run a bit behind schedule. To lower the number of delays, we ask that all registrants that are scheduling rides during peak times (6:00-8:30AM), (2:30-6:00PM) to schedule for at least an hour ahead of the time that the rider needs to arrive at their destination. If your rider is in school for afternoon pick-up, please ask that they are either brought down to the office or if old enough informed to remain vigilant for our divers. Many families use our services to schedule rides for after school pick-up, so it is extremely important that the student is made available for the driver to pick up immediately at dismissal. The stand times also apply for school pick-ups.
