Launched in 2002, Kids In Technology (KNT) is devoted to showing the world that kids should be introduced to advance technology early. By reaching out to the community through workshops and after school programs. Kids In Technology introduces computer programming and technology to kids from underrepresented communities in technology areas such as web design, robotics, gaming, mobile app development and more. By cultivating the next generation of innovators we hope to grow the number of STEM careers and give kids a chance to become the future leaders in technology and the masters of their technological worlds. After-school Enrichment Instructors
Salary – $20 - $25 Per Hour
Summary: Lead fun project-based learning STEM activities with students during after school hours. Manage assignments, projects, and classroom.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Delivers super fun STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) activities after school.
Use Kids-N-Technology -approved curriculum
Maintain structure and order in classroom, practice safety first while administering activities.
Start each activity with clear objectives for all lessons, curricular units, and projects and communicates these objectives to the students.
Build effective relationships with parents and students through regular communication and is available to students and parents for education-related purposes.
SUMMER CAMP INSTRUCTORS
Lead Instructor will lead the implementation of Kids In Technology Summer Camp curriculum, teaching 25-30 kids ages 7-17 mobile app development, web development, etc., collaborating with Summer Camp Instructional Assistants, create and maintain a strong camp culture and promoting an inclusive collaborative camp environment. S/he will thrive working in a fast-paced, high-performance environment and will demonstrate flexibility to last minute modification if they arise. The Lead Instructor will effectively and eagerly create strong consistent camp culture, effectively facilitate lessons, build relationships with campers and work in collaboration with staff. Only candidates with a background in engineering, science, or technology will be considered for this
The successful candidate will have direct experience teaching or coaching K12 students, with strong classroom management and community building skills. Will have extensive experience programming with several coding languages and demonstrates capabilities using technology tools to facilitate and teach coding (Keynote, PowerPoint, Prezi, Google Hangouts, Google Docs, email etc.). The Lead Instructor will be a contracted position based in at the summer camp reporting to the Summer Program Coordinator.
• Teaching groups of K12 students in informal setting.
• Perfer Fluent in coding languages (i.e. SCRATCH, LEGO, etc.)
• Strong classroom management/relationship building skills
• Demonstrates ability to problem solve
