Posting flyers
All advertisement materials will already be created ahead of time, printed, and given to you. Once you pick up the flyers from our office, you'll just need to go to a local print shop (we recommend FedEx) and use the cutting board to cut these pages appropriately since multiple images/flyers may be on one page. Flyers advertising the event will then need to be put up around town. This includes coffee shops, college community boards, parks, street corners, etc. We have a list of suggestions and past spots, but volunteers are encouraged to be creative and come up with other places as well.
Setting up online advertisements
There are many online community boards, event listings, newspapers, etc. that will need to be contacted and asked to post information about this event. Many times it's a matter of filling out an application and attaching an electronic flyer. We have a list of suggestions and past online avenues, but volunteers are encouraged to be creative and find other sites as well.
Set up/Prep Team
Set up includes tables, chairs, banners, signs, cones, snack and water tables, etc. All materials and supplies will be at the location upon arrival and the team will simply ensure it is all set up properly.
Ultimate Central/Registration
Volunteers will be assigned specific teams to check in when they arrive. Tables and chairs will be provided and teams will come to you at the table to inform you they are present. You will welcome players, check names off a list, hand out participation materials, and give general directions prior to the tournament.
Time Keeper/Bracket
Games have a set time and there will be two brackets during the tournament. Volunteers are responsible to time games, indicating the beginning and end of games with a provided horn or whistle. Teams will report the winner/loser of the game and volunteer will update the bracket at Ultimate Central.
