What aspects of the AIESEC program are you interested in?
INCOMING EXCHANGE - Incoming exchange in conjunction with Outgoing Exchange does the core work of AIESEC - matching potential interns from abroad to companies, which have signed onto the Global Internship Program through AIESEC. ICX handles the VISA process, accommodations, and reception of the intern, and ensures proper company servicing for the duration of the internship. It is also our responsibility to continue the growth of AIESEC Calgary by re-signing our current partnerships.
OUTGOING EXCHANGE - Have you ever wanted to help an individual gain life-changing experiences while attaining international skills and preparing yourself for the future? Our main focus is to offer students in AIESEC a chance to live in another country while gaining work experience. As an OGX member you will help motivated students in the Global Internship Program while developing skills such as knowing the international job market and communicating with international students.
EXTERNAL RELATIONS - The external relations portfolio deals with advertising, fundraising, alumni and events. We advertise by creating/maintaining partnerships with media/advertising agencies to market AIESEC. Fundraising involves developing partnership with companies. AIESEC alumni are asked for their help in becoming a mentor for the alumni mentorship program, taking an intern, making donations, and running soft-skill sessions. Lastly, the portfolio runs the soft-skill sessions as well as events involving the general public.
FINANCE - The Finance Portfolio consists primarily of overseeing all the financial aspects of the local to ensure its financial sustainability. Activities include: budgeting, keeping track of spending (monthly bookkeeping), and controlling to make sure that the budget and spending are properly aligned. Additional activities include payroll management and office administrative tasks.
TALENT MANAGEMENT - Love working with people in a fast paced and social environment? The Member Development portfolio does this and more. Members of the MD Portfolio utilize skills such as team organization/management, networking and marketing in order to organize and promote events, plan recruitment campaigns, update our internal website and enhance the overall experience of AIESEC Members within the local.
CORPORATE DEVELOPMENT - CD portfolio is in charge of the first step of AIESEC’s Global Internship Program. It develops local partnerships to accommodate incoming interns as part of the leadership development process. Through making initial contacts, going to sales meetings, and completing internship contracts, CD members will get the opportunity to develop not only their marketing skills and professionalism, but they will also get the chance to develop professional relationships with other organizations.
