What is a WIP?
A WIP is a Waste Information Profile form. We have different variations of this form to simplify waste characterization for specific loads, based on the type of wastewater.
When do you need a WIP?
A WIP is required for any load that enters our facility. Some WIPs are characterized for every distinct load, while some WIPs can be used over a period of time if the material is characterized the same.
Where do I get and submit the WIP?
Email your WIP and analytical information, MSDS or other information to WIP@ppvnw.com for approval. For multi-loads, contact your sales/project manager for multi-load WIPs or any other questions you might have.
Why is the WIP required for all loads?
Part of our permit requirements create the need for a Waste Acceptance Plan that outlines how we determine our accepted loads.which is paired with the Treatability Plan that explains what our wastewater treatment plan can treat with a certified engineering report.
The WIP has sections where this information is verified as acceptable and measurements of the material are given to make sure our facility can treat it properly. The WIP begins your path of disposal at our facility and compliance with the City of Portland.
