The Sports Shooter Academy is the ultimate sports photography experience giving participants the opportunity to cover a variety of events under the guidance of a faculty of award-winning photojournalists.
After each shooting day, workshop participants will edit their work and receive one-on-one critiques from the instructors.
Sports events on the SSA16 schedule (as of 12/1/2018) include: College track & field, baseball and softball. Horse racing, cycling and sessions at a local boxing gym are also on the schedule.
There will be several classes with topics ranging from digital workflow to setting up remote cameras and location lighting.
The Sports Shooter Academy has moved to Los Angeles for 2019 from Orange County where we have been based for 13 years.
Whether you're looking to improve your photography to capture better peak action images at youth and high school sports or aspire to cover major college and professional sports, this workshop is the place to learn and grow. The motto of the Sports Shooter Acasdemy is: See Better. Shoot Better.
Sports Shooter Academy Alums have gone on to work for major publications, wire services and agencies. Currently SSA Alums are working for several professional sports teams, major college athletic departments and international sports federations.
Additionally Sports Shooter Academy Alums have won numerous awards and honors including Pictures of the Year and NPPA's Newspaper Photographer of the Year and Sports Photographer of the Year.
The connections you will make are a major side benefit of this workshop. SSA Alums stay in contact though the workshop's social media sites, message board and mailing list. These are lasting friendships that not only help you professionally but personally as well.
