Fall Early Arrival Request

Campus housing opens for continuing students on Sunday, August 24 and students may arrive between 2pm-5pm. Deadline to submit a request is Friday, August 1. If we are able to approve requests received past this date an administrative charge of $50 will be added to your student account.
Orchestrating the start of the school year is a massive undertaking. Though many students want to arrive early for various reasons, we have strict guidelines for who can arrive before the opening time on Sunday, August 24. Here are the approved reasons to return early.

Sponsored Early Arrival: no cost
If you are unsure of arrival details, please contact the department responsible for your early return.
- Participation in a leadership team (department will submit this request)
- Fall athletic team (coach will submit this request)
- On-campus job-have your supervisor email residence.life@wheaton.edu
- Fall semester student teacher-PLEASE SUBMIT THIS REQUEST!
- Nursing and Engineering Students with start dates prior to August 25, 2025-PLEASE SUBMIT THIS REQUEST!
Non-Sponsored Early Arrival: $50 nightly charge, if approved
Requests will be processed on a case-by-case basis.
- For-credit internship (earliest arrival is Sunday, August 17)
- International travel (*email residence.life@wheaton.edu for cost/policy)
Not Approved:

These reasons below will be denied and students will be asked to find off-campus housing until Sunday, August 24. Based on the early start date of Passage, siblings of Passage particapants may no longer move into housing at the same time.
- Transition from off-campus summer leases
- Off-campus employment
The semester meal plan begins with breakfast on Monday, August 25. For students arriving as part of a sponsored group, your leader will communicate your meal options. If you are approved to arrive prior to August 25, you may pay at the door for meals when the dining hall is open.

All early arrivals require approval from the Residence Life office. To avoid a potential fee or being asked to stay in a local hotel, fill out this form! Athletes and student leaders do not need to submit a request. We will not be able to reply to your submission.

I also understand that once I am on campus, the Community Covenant and all Residence Life Policies are in effect.
