SPECIAL UNITS - PARADE RULES AND INFORMATION
SPECIAL UNITS CONSIST OF: Clowns, dance groups, cheer squads, musical groups, drill teams, antique vehicles (prior to 1970), pageant titleholders, business floats, etc.
All special units must be in place by 9:45 AM on Thursday, August 9
1. Vans, Trailers, Go Carts, ATV’s, etc. and equipment trucks are not permitted unless they are needed for the success of the group. Please be sure you include your need for the vehicles
2. No sirens or horns may be used by any units.
3. No objects of any kind (including candy and autographs) may be distributed or thrown to Parade spectators.
4. Entries must not stop forward motion in order to perform. Those doing so may result in being removed from the lineup. You are to keep the proper 50 feet interval between units at all times.
5. We are encouraging everyone to dress and/or decorate their car, special unit, etc. in baby pink and/or blue. These colors will help create a fun through line and celebrate the uniqueness of a baby parade! If your unit has specific costuming for your act please do not feel like you have to change the costuming to incorporate the pink/blue colors.
6. The use of convertibles is generally restricted to those carrying dignitaries, Honorary Grand Marshals, pageant titleholders and costumed characters.
7. Antique vehicles must be entered as individual units and must display a current license.
It is suggested those entering antique cars consider dressing in clothing appropriate to the period the car was manufactured. If you and your passenger/s choose not to follow that suggestion your attire may be casual.
8. Animal units are not permitted.
9. The use of alcohol by Parade participants before or during the Parade is strictly prohibited. Smoking is not permitted along the parade route! Those doing so will be asked to leave the Parade.
