Health Insurance Requirement for Volunteers and Staff
All volunteers and staff serving with Metro Ministries must have valid health insurance coverage for the entire duration of their stay in Costa Rica. This requirement is not only a preventive measure but also ensures that every volunteer is properly protected in the event of unforeseen circumstances during their service.
It is the responsibility of each volunteer to confirm that their policy is active and valid, and that the coverage is sufficient for general medical care, hospitalization, and emergencies. We also strongly recommend that the insurance policy includes coverage for accidents and medical evacuation, especially for those coming from abroad.
Metro Ministries does not assume financial responsibility for any medical, hospital, or emergency expenses that may occur during a volunteer or staff member’s stay. Therefore, it is essential that each person has insurance that meets their specific needs and covers the entire length of their stay.
This requirement is intended to ensure that every volunteer is protected and supported. Our hope is that each person can serve with peace of mind, knowing that in the event of any health-related situation, they will be properly covered and cared for.
