1. Assignment:EB Committee Coordinator
2. Purpose of Assignment: Existing buildings account for 97% of the building stock and are responsible for a disproportionate amount of the overall energy and water usage in the world. Operating and maintaining buildings sustainably has the greatest potential positive environmental impact on the built environment.
3. Tasks: Coordinate the activities, meetings and communications of the committee to its members and the chapter. Work with the committee chair and other volunteers to schedule speakers and venues, produce messaging and arrange logistics for events. Stay on top of important industry news and develop communication materials to communicate that information.
4. Time Commitment:
4-8 hrs per month (average)
5. Skill Requirements:
Ideal candidate is motivated and able to produce work independently. Knowledge of existing building management, operations and maintenance a plus but not required. Familiarity with sustainability certifications, building codes and regulations also a plus. Must be positive person that is willing to do outreach.
6. Training and Skill Development:
No training required, just energy and commitment.
7. Job Location:
Volunteers can work from any location but are expected to attend meetings and events whenever possible. Meetings occur approximately once a quarter and are usually in DTLA or nearby.
8. Benefits:
Volunteers will be able to gain access to industry professionals and have an opportunity to get their name out there. They will be able to attend events for free and to help set the committee’s overall agenda
