We know many families have two working adults and we don't expect anyone to be a super hero and quit a day job just to be able to take home a puppy. Every puppy family has different needs, and this information form helps us identify who needs what information and what homes might make the best fit. If you're a veteran Australian Labradoodle owner, we don't want to waste your time regaling things you already know; by the same token, if this is your first puppy or first Australian Labradoodle, we want to make sure you leave prepared for what life with a puppy may bring.

This information is used for us to decide if we are able to accommodate your preferences for a pup. Please ensure that your preferences reflect the information on the litter you are applying for. For example: If a litter description does not have chocolate pups and your first colour preference is chocolate colour then you have already eliminated yourself from a puppy placement. Obviously, the less restrictive your preferences, the easier it is to be able to offer and allocate a pup to you.

Note that all pet puppies are desexed, therefore there is little difference between males and females with regards to personalities and traits.

You will need to create a profile with the NSW Pet Registry. You will need to "Claim" your puppy once ownership is transferred to you by us. This only applied to pups remaining in NSW.

We highly recommend that you find a vet that uses the new Nobivac vaccine. This vaccine only required 2 injections, one at 6 weeks and then at 10 weeks. The old vaccine required a 3rd around 16 weeks of age.

Apart from the usual daily grooming requirements Labradoodles require professional grooming approx. every 6 weeks, and it can cost $100+ each time. Lack of grooming can cause serious skin problems and matting. Are you committed to this necessary expense?*

Under no circumstances will any of our pups be allowed to be surrendered to any shelter or pound. This is a contracted requirement.

What to expect
Completing this application is a step in the process to acquiring a puppy from Illawarra Labradoodles, but it does not guarantee you'll get a puppy from this or any future litter. While it's unlikely, the breeder reserves the right to refuse any placement at any time.

APPROVAL AND DEPOSIT: We will review applications within 4 business days of receipt. Applications are processed in the order they are received. If your home is a good fit, I'll notify you. We breed infrequently, so we will only accept deposits when puppies are actually available. Approved homes will receive details to lodge a commitment deposit on a puppy, and will be sent out in the order approved applications were received. Please make this deposit within 48 hours of the approval e-mail.

Deposits are Non-Refundable. The only time a deposit may be refunded is if we are unable to provide you with a puppy from a current or future litter where the wait time is not unreasonable. The deposit amount is deducted from the total price.

YOUR PICK OF PUPPY: Puppies will be assigned in deposit order by the first or second preference of the depositor as indicated on the application. If neither of your choices are available, you may elect another puppy from another litter if available. We ask that you make a choice within 24 hours of notification since there may be other families waiting for a chance to choose.

GOING HOME: We cannot hold puppies past 8 weeks of age or onces sold, unless indicated by you in the application and agreed to by us via acceptance of your application; it is critical for their social development that the litter departs within a reasonable timeframe. If you have a big holiday planned or have events that would conflict with a young puppy, please know puppies cannot be boarded in a kennel until they have received their full immunisations. Puppies must be picked up by the go home date - or from 8 weeks of age, by the nearest weekend - unless prior arrangements have been made. Alternatively, private, in home boarding will be arranged with a local family at a current rate of $20 per day. All vaccinations etc after sale of puppy remain the responsibility of the purchaser.

CONTRACT: We have a contract and will not place a puppy without a signed contract. We believe it's the professional thing to do to memorialise our obligations to each other on paper so there are no questions later, and for that reason it's a bit lengthy. If you have questions about specific terms, you need to contact us prior to picking up your puppy.

SPAY/NEUTER: All pet puppies are desexed before they leave us. If you're a breeder you should enquire with us first for alternate arrangements and availability. Sadly, many well-intentioned people don't remember to desex before the first heat cycle, and suddenly their barely-adolescent dog is pregnant by multiple studs of unknown heritage. Spay surgery while pregnant is exceedingly risky, and several canine STDs such as brucellosis can be transferred to humans, which poses an unacceptable risk to our families. Because we take cradle-to-grave "original home" responsibility for the puppies we created, puppies must be de-sexed before leaving us unless you are under a guardian home agreement.

REGISTRATION PAPERS: Our excellent family companions come with registration with the Australian Labradoodle Association (ALA). You will received your Certificate of Registration with certified Pedigree from the ALA Registrar either by mail or email in due course. This can take a short while as it is time consuming to register each pup/litter and generate pedigrees.
