First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and First Presbyterian Church are sponsoring Sunday at Spring Lake, an intergenerational/family event.
This will take place on Sunday, July 22, 2018 from 2:00pm to 7:00pm.
Planned are five tracks: Bible Story/Craft, Games, Fishing, Pontoon Boat Rides and a Guided Hiking Trail. You can do all of the events of just choose to a few to participate in.
There will also be a Hot Dog Roast with watermelon and S'Mores PLUS Troublesome Ridge, a wonderful Blue Grass group who will entertain us and also provide us with a sing-along opportunity. If you wish to just come to the meal and listen to some good music, by all means register for that as well.
How do I register? Registration will be on-line at our websites, at church and at the park at the large shelter. We’d like to know how much food to purchase, so you are encouraged to register before the 15th of July.
What if I need transportation? Both churches will provide van transportation to the park, if necessary. Be at the church at 1:30om and plan to arrive back at the church at approximately 7:30pm. Please call the church, FCC-309.837.6473 OR 1st Pres, 309.833-3333 if you need a ride. We will have transportation up and down the hill at Spring Lake for those wanting to do water activities and shelter activities.
Who is invited? Families are encouraged to attend. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by a parent/adult and children under 18 must have a signed parental permission waiver to attend. Anyone 16 and older must have a valid fishing license. Fishing poles and life jackets will be provided, as well as a first-aid station and watering hole.
