  • I need to know what how much poundage your bow draws. Typically this is written somewhere on your bow. It will look something like this:

What this means is that my "Ghengis 64 bow with a serial number 0208023 draws 43 pounds at 32 inches. This is important because if you shoot a 28 inch draw, the bow will not launch an arrow with the same speed and force as it will at 32 inches. This is important if you want perfect arrows to match YOU and YOUR BOW.

  • I need to know the draw length that you use. I don't want to make you a 30 inch arrow if you have a 32 inch draw. You can get this measured at any archery shop. Take your bow and they will measure your draw length for you. They are usually happy to help with this.

  • This is also very important information if you want custom arrows which group tightly. You have three choices:

No shelf - typical of a horse bow and some longbows and stick bows.

Center cut shelf - This is the shelf you nearly always see on a wooden longbow or recurve bow. (see photo below. You can see that the shelf still puts the arrow on the side of the bow, not in the middle of the bow as a center shot bow shelf.

Center shot shelf - This is what you nearly always see on compound bows. We all know what those look like, right?

  • Grouping in the middle around the bulls eye.
