Adoption Application

Our adoption process is designed to help you find the right dog for your family, while ensuring each dog is placed into a permanent, safe, and loving home. If you are interested in a specific dog or would like to be pre-approved as you start looking for that perfect dog, please fill out our adoption application. We will then contact you to begin the process, which will involve a home visit, reference checks, and a meet-and-greet with your current dogs, if any. Please note that we will not set up meet-and-greets until you have been approved and you will need to be willing to bring your current dogs and family to Moscow, Idaho to meet most of our dogs. All currently owned dogs must be up-to-date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered if over 1 year old. Please remember that Idaho German Shepherd Rescue is run by volunteers who have full-time jobs, so we ask for your patience in this process. Our adoption fees help us offset the transportation, veterinarian, and care costs of our rescue dogs. We ask for a minimum adoption fee donation of $400 for a puppy under 1 year old, $300 for an adult dog 1 thru 6 years old, and $200 for an adult dog 7 years and older.
