The Club would like all of our members, currently boated or not, to have the opportunity to participate in a cruise experience: sparkling conversations with clubmates, docktails, dinner on the party barge (with heated tents), games, shore adventures and even some interesting information on our island home.
With most of our cruisers based in Friday Harbor we will organize opportunities for folks without boats to catch a ride for the 1-2 hours cruise to Roche Harbor and then land transportation back to town, if you want to overnight at home. Or you can just drive to the event.
Festivities will start with Friday night docktails and potluck appetizers starting at 5:00 on the party barge. We will then break for dinner on your own at either McMillins or back at the Clubhouse in Friday Harbor.
Saturday will be chock full of games, walks and activities in the resort. At 4:30 island historian and raconteur Boyd Pratt will share quirky stories about our island history and characters, including the infamous pig. At 6pm we will re-convene in the dock tent for marinated tri-tip steak BBQ grilled by “the three Mikes” - Nachlinger, Aiello and Henry. There will also be a vegetarian option. You bring a side dish.
The boated among us will be able to dock at Roche Harbor for winter rates ($1.00/ft) and get a “rendezvous” experience at this premier Northwest resort, leveraging the expertise of our committee. Members who already keep their boats at Roche will be able to move them to a guest dock slip at no cost. Moorage reservations will be made through the cruise committee, do not call Roche Harbor directly.
