  • Instructions & Rules:

    All Items must be handmade by the exhibitor from 100% wool, wool-blend (>=50% Wool) or exotic animal fibers. (Exception: *Novelty class)

    All skeins should be produced within the last year.

    Entry fee: $3.00/skein. Limit-10 entries.

    All skeins will be judged on their own merits and ribbons awarded using the Danish system– blue, red & white ribbons will be awarded. Best in Class ribbons will be awarded for each major class category.

    Skeins must be hand spun by the exhibitor with a minimum amount of 2oz (except exotic classes). Wind skeins, wash to set twist & tie neatly in four places with matching yarn.

    Must include a 4x6 description card for each item. Information should include:

    1. Type of fiber & or combination of fibers.

    2. Ply

    3. Preparation and creation details.

    4. Any additional comments.

    *Please do not include farm or personal information. This information can be added for display purposes after judging.*

    *Novelty yarns, sometimes referred to as complex yarns, are yarns which create a fabric that is not always smooth and uniform. Complex yarns are uneven yarns which may be thick and thin or have curls, loops, twists and differently colored areas along their length. Examples: Boucle', core, slub, crepe, etc. Novelty skeins may include plant and/or synthetic materials.

    All skeins must be received at the Wool Fleece Show/Sale Bldg. between Noon & 4 P.M. Friday before festival.

    Judging will begin at 5 P.M. Items will be on display Saturday & Sunday in a secure setting. All possible precautions will be taken to protect your items but they are on display for public viewing. Items must be picked up between 3 & 4 PM on Sunday. Any items not picked up by 4 PM will be found at the fair office.
