• 500X Expo 2019

    500X Gallery, Texas’ oldest, artist–run, cooperative galleries, hosts one of North Texas’ most anticipated annual juried competitions. $300 in cash prizes will be awarded to the juror's favorites! Exhibition runs from October 12 - November 3, 2019. The deadline to submit your work is September 22nd by MIDNIGHT!

  • Eligibility

    Expo 2019 is open to all artists over the age of 18 living in Texas. All visual media are eligible, including drawing, painting, sculpture, installation and video (artist must supply all required electronic equipment). All work must be ready to hang.

  • Juror

    Adrian Zuñiga is a writer on contemporary art whose research interests are driven by socially-engaged topics, from the nature of labor and workers on the Internet to artistic interventions within disenfranchised communities. After receiving a BFA in Painting from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2012 he began working for Galleri Urbane in Dallas, Texas, where he has helped plan numerous solo and group exhibitions and art fair presentations. In 2016, he moved to London for a year to study at Sotheby's Institute of Art, receiving an MA in Contemporary Art and the program's Director's Commendation Award for academic excellence. He is currently based in Dallas where he is the Director of Exhibitions at Galleri Urbane.

  • We accept only digital files, with the following recommended specs:

    • JPG/JPEG files only
    • Image should be approximately 2100 pixels (7 inches) on the longest side
      300 ppi (pixels per inch) resolution
    • We suggest a compression setting of 7 or 8 when saving in Photoshop or Elements.  sRGB color space is recommended, whether black and white or color.
    • Maximum file size is 5MB in the JPG’s closed and compressed state. JPGs that are open in an application will be much larger. It’s the closed size that matters.
    • If you use layers, please flatten the image.
    • If uploading a video, upload compressed .mov file
    • When resizing images for submission, be sure to rename the file before saving it! (Lastname_Firstname_numberOfEntry, example: Doe_Jane_01.jpg)
