In 2015, the Atlanta Chapter of Les Dames d’Escoffier International, in partnership with the Hambidge Center for Creative Arts & Sciences, established a Fellowship Grant of $2,800 to be awarded annually to a member of the Atlanta Chapter of Les Dames d’Escoffier International.
This grant provides for a 2-week residency fellowship. For more than 80 years, the Hambidge Center (www.hambidge.org) has awarded residency fellowships to distinguished artists, writers, culinarians and scientists at their 600-acre property located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Georgia.
Eight individuals are in residence at any given time. Each person has private accommodations with a full kitchen and studio space and shares communal dinners prepared by an in-residence chef.
Residency projects could include but not be limited to:
Cookbook and editorial writing, menu development, development of business or marketing plans for restaurant and hospitality, agriculture or food and beverage related business, recipe development, scripts for culinary content or programs, photography/food styling projects, development of organic or farm-to-table programs, culinary journalism/writing and digital media content development, etc…
The $2,800 Grant covers Hambidge residency fees and in addition, up to $500 in travel and material expenses may be reimbursed. The Grant recipient will have the entire Hambidge calendar year (mid-February to mid-December of the year after the application is received and awarded) to complete the residency program. Residencies will be scheduled based on The Hambidge Center lodging calendar and the grant recipient must communicate with the Hambidge Center to coordinate a mutually agreed upon date.

Be an active member in good standing of Les Dames d’Escoffier International
Be a legal resident of Georgia
Complete this application in it’s entirety and submit no later than 11:59 pm September 15th.
Share her Hambidge experience and accomplishments with the Atlanta LDEI Chapter in both a written and oral presentation within one year of completing the Fellowship
Representatives from the Atlanta LDEI Scholarship Committee and Hambidge will review applications and submit recommendations to the LDEI Board for approval. Grant Recipient will be notified by October 1, 2019. Any revision to the originally submitted subject matter or intended use of the Fellowship must be approved by the Scholarship Committee. The LDEI Chapter Treasurer will coordinate payment of fees to Hambidge in a timely manner and the stipend awarded to the grant recipient upon the timely submission of itemized receipts. Should the recipient cancel participation in the Fellowship, all awarded funds must be returned to the Atlanta Chapter of LDEI . Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions.
