PoMoArts is run by the Port Moody Arts Centre Society, a not-for-profit community arts organization mandated to develop, promote, and celebrate the visual, performing, and literary arts in Port Moody, BC. PoMoArts provides more than 300 art programs and music lessons along with a schedule of eight exhibitions in three gallery spaces each year. The main floor of this heritage building is mainly devoted to the gallery. It is open 7 days a week, except holidays, and there is no charge to view exhibitions.
The Gallery at PoMoArts is seeking proposals for group and solo exhibitions featuring a wide variety of artistic mediums, including, but not limited to, drawing, painting, print media, photography, sculpture, ceramics, textile art, digital art, audio/video performance, site-specific installations, and performance art. Proposals including a participatory element are encouraged.
Exhibition proposals are received and reviewed on an ongoing basis, and are evaluated based on theme cohesion, relevance, community impact, diversity of mediums, and inclusion of non-derivative artworks.
PoMoArts provides promotional materials and marketing support for exhibitions. This includes printed rack cards and posters, digital materials for website and social media, as well as information in our digital newsletter, in local print and online sources. In addition, we feature exhibitions on the gallery page of the website and on social media channels. Each exhibition also includes wall signage and labels.
Exhibiting artists are eligible to have an Artist Directory profile page on PoMoArts website.
