The Port Moody Arts Centre Society is a not-for-profit community arts organization mandated to develop, promote, and celebrate the visual, performing, and literary arts in Port Moody, BC. The Port Moody Arts Centre provides more than 300 art programs and music lessons along with a schedule of nine exhibitions in three gallery spaces each year. The main floor of this heritage building is mainly devoted to the gallery. It is open 7 days a week, except holidays, and there is no charge to view exhibitions.
The Port Moody Arts Centre Gallery accepts proposals year-round for both group and solo exhibitions. In the past we have had a wide variety of shows, including but not limited to, painting, photography, clay, metal, glass, mixed media, digital media, textile art and wood. Exhibition proposals are reviewed by the PoMo Arts exhibitions committee, which meets twice a year to evaluate work based on a cohesive theme, non-derivative, and skillful execution of chosen media. Proposals including a participatory element are encouraged.
The Port Moody Arts Centre provides promotional materials and marketing support for exhibitions. This includes rack cards and posters, as well as information in our digital newsletter, in local print and or online sources. In addition, we feature exhibitions on the gallery page of the website and on social media channels. Each exhibition also includes wall signage and labels.
