Formal Notice of Resignation
Greetings in the precious name of Jesus! We thank you for informing us of your intention to resign from your membership with the ECA. Although we regret your departure, we pray that God may bless you as you start your new journey. We trust that the Lord will empower you to fulfill the call He has set for you in your life and extend to you His grace, wisdom, and mercy.
Serving the Master,
The ECA staff
NOTE:
You must submit your Formal Notice of Resignation by March 31 of the current year, either through the ECA website, by email, or by mail. Failure to do so will result in being charged for the current year’s annual membership.
To resign in good standing, all ECA dues, fees, and reports must be current.
For example:
- A member who resigns from January 1 through March 31, (e.g., in 2026) must submit the 2025 Annual Report and any outstanding reports/dues before submission of resignation to be considered as having resigned in good standing.
- A member who resigns any time after March 31 (e.g., in 2026) must submit a 2025 Annual Report, any outstanding reports/dues, and must also pay the current year’s membership dues before submission of resignation to be considered as having resigned in good standing.
Failure to satisfy these requirements will result in a status of “Removed NOT in good standing.” Any party contacting the ECA to verify your membership will be informed of your status, whether you have resigned in good standing or been removed NOT in good standing.
Nonpayment of dues and/or failure to submit required reports does not constitute official notice of resignation. In addition, you must return your current-year membership identification card, credential certificate, and ordination certificate, which will be retained in your file for up to seven (7) years, as required by ECA policy.
By resigning from the ECA, you relinquish your authorization to officiate weddings and perform sacraments/rites as an ordained ECA minister.
If you have any questions, please contact the ECA Office.
