Mass: Liturgy of the Word
After all the faithful have gathered and the opening prayers and preparations have been made, the Liturgy of the Word begins. The Liturgy of the Word includes readings from the Old Testament, the Psalms, the letters from the Apostles in the New Testament, and the Gospel. All of these are the Word of God and God speaking directly to us, it is important that we pay attention and listen to what He is saying. After the Gospel proclamation, the priest exhorts all the faithful through his homily to put into practice all that they have heard in the Word of God.
