In addition to our Power & Policy Summit and the New American Hero Awards, NAL will be hosting a training program from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm on December 6 specifically for recently elected New Americans called the New American Leadership Academy. New elected officials can expect to learn the ins and outs of governance, navigating power structures, and advancing your legislative priorities.

Scholarship
It is expected that all scholarship recipients attend the entirety of the program they are signed up to attend, unless otherwise discussed with NAL staff. Hotel and travel scholarship recipients will be notified if they have been selected for scholarship funds via email.

NOTE TO ELECTED OFFICIALS: Before requesting scholarship funds, please make sure to review the appropriate ethics rules and guidelines regarding receiving gifts and travel support for elected officials in your jurisdiction.

NOTE TO CURRENT CANDIDATES: Your registration and any hotel and travel assistance are contingent upon your successful election to public office in November 2018.

Hotel Scholarship
NAL can provide hotel accommodations to all of our confirmed scholarship recipients for TWO nights if attending Power & Policy only: Thursday, December 6th and Friday, December 7th.

NAL can provide hotel accommodations to all of our confirmed scholarship recipients for THREE nights if attending New American Leadership Academy AND Power & Policy: Wednesday, December 6th, Thursday, December 6th and Friday, December 7th.

Check out will be the morning of Saturday, December 8th for all attendees. Please complete this to be considered for scholarship funds.

Travel Scholarship
For NALA attendees: NAL will provide travel assistance in the form of a reimbursement check or flight voucher to confirmed scholarship recipients, up to $400.

For P&P attendees: NAL will provide travel assistance in the form of a reimbursement check to confirmed scholarship recipients, on a first come-first serve basis, up to $300 for recipients from the West and $150 for recipients from the East Coast or Midwest.

*Please note that any costs associated with change in travel will not be covered by NAL.
