Importance of Choosing the Right Days and Times
While we understand that life can be chaotic, emergencies do happen, work schedules change, and that your child may decide to sign up for spring athletics or clubs, we ask that you please select the most consistent days and times for tutoring.
NOTE: Same-day cancellations or no-shows cause a tremendous amount of disarray, so please try to avoid rescheduling unless there is a genuine emergency. If your child is "acting out" about not wanting to be at their session, tutors are often able to engage them when they appear. We saw that magic happen time and time again last semester!
If you are unable to make the session, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org ASAP, so we can alert your child's tutor.
About Our Tutors
Our IU student-tutors had the most wonderful thoughts to share about working with their students last semester! Some of them have expressed an interest in returning to tutor, even though it is no longer a course requirement for them. It was a joy to observe these sessions and see the growth in our Brown County children.
Our IU tutors are a lot like parents these days, extremely busy and stressed, balancing coursework with jobs, family commitments, and COVID scares.
Please note that although they have chosen to work with Brown County children, they are required by their professors or service-learning groups to show up for their scheduled number of hours and write reflection papers on their experience working with your child. In short, their own success is a huge part of your child's success, which is what makes this such a great partnership.
Tutoring is a wonderful gift, both to your child and to our IU student-tutors who intend to become teachers or education professionals. Thank you so much for your continued participation.
