    Fees
    Details of our fees can be found within our website. Note that fees are estimated and in the event more complex inspection is required, you will be made aware of these charges. If you do not accept these charges, you will be refunded, unless the inspection has been undertaken.

    IMPORTANT
    You will be required to make payment for the service as part of this application, by using a credit or debit card. Your application will not be completed or reviewed without this payment. Please therefore ensure you have payment details to hand before starting.

  • Choosing the right service

  • BIFIS offers three types of inspections:

    Virtual Inspection (A quick opinion inspection)
    (£175+VAT)

    This is very much intended for those wishing to obtain an opinion on a partuicular part of an installation. As an example, a worksurface join or small damage.

    The inspection requires the property to have access to a strong wifi / mobile connection and the person requesting the inspection to be present.

    Do not use this service for multi-point issues, or if you feel the matter will lead to dispute of any kind. It does not include remedy solutions, timescale estimates or fault-finding.

    Inspection Lite (Re-assurance inspection)
    (£375+VAT)

    Your inspector will visit the property to take an in-person look at the installation. This service is ideal if there are several points to inspect and where an on-site inspection is more suitable.

    The inspector will not discuss their findings on the day, but will provide a report with pictures and a commentary of what they see.

    Do not use this service if you feel the matter will lead to dispute of any kind. It does not include remedy solutions, timescale estimates or fault-finding.

    Dispute (An indepth expert report)
    (From £750+VAT)

    If you are disputing the quality of the installation and you / your customer is unhappy with the work, this is the inspection for you.

    Your report will include a S35 compliant report which can be used to support dispute resolution within civil proceedings cases, should it require.

    Note that if you choose this option, submit your information and pay, our team will assess the complexity. If the complexity requires a change to the price (noting that the service is priced FROM £750+VAT), our team will provide details and a link to pay the difference. If you do not wish to proceed, you have 14 days to cancel the order and you will be refunded the entire fee paid).

    COMMON MISTAKE

    We all want to pay less, but choosing the wrong report may not add value to the situation you're facing - This may lead to further and unnecessary expense.

    SIMPLIFIED...

    Our virtual service is the equivilent to asking an experience friend "what do you think about the standard of that one issue". You'll get a qualified response which may help you resolve the issue.

    Our lite service is where you may have serveral points that need another experience opinion. "I've paid a lot for this installation... what do you think". This service is ideal if you're happy with the overall standard, but you just want some reassurance.

    The dispute service is perfect where the standard of workmanship, in someones opinion, is not acceptable and you / your customer is demanding a resolution.

    You must provide precise points that you want our inspector to report on. Do not generalise the points - ie. "The kitchen" - instead, itemise the precise points within the kitchen that you want us to comment on - ie. "The standard of the tiling" or "The worktop installation" or "The gas hob positioning" etc. Only complete the points required, leave boxes blank if you do not need them.
