Illinois Farm Bureau and the Illinois Certified Crop Adviser Board are pleased to announce this year’s Illinois Certified Crop Adviser Award. This award recognizes an individual who has performed superior service for their farmer customers in nutrient management, soil and water management, integrated pest management, and crop production.
The CCA Award is designed to recognize a crop adviser who is highly innovative, delivers exceptional customer service, and is a leader in their field. To be considered, CCAs must be certified in Illinois.
This year’s Illinois Certified Crop Adviser Award winner will be recognized in Chicago at the Illinois Farm Bureau Annual Meeting in December, as well as at the Illinois CCA Conference in Springfield. The winner will also be submitted to the Illinois CCA Board for consideration for the International CCA Award.
This year we are excited to announce that the winner will also receive a $150 gift certificate to Gibson’s Bar & Steakhouse in Chicago. In addition, the person who nominates the winner will receive a $100 gift certificate to Cabela’s.
Certified Crop Advisers (CCAs) advise growers, farm managers, and farm operators on agronomic practices. Certification is voluntary, but farmers and employers prefer to work with CCAs because they have demonstrated that they have the commitment, education, expertise, and experience to make a difference in a client’s farming operation.
The purpose of this award is to increase the awareness that farmers and their service people strive to do their best in making economically and environmentally sound cropping decisions.
Nominations may be submitted by a county Farm Bureau (CFB), an active Farm Bureau member, or the employer of the CCA who has knowledge of the CCA’s qualifications. Work with your CFB to have the nomination approved by the CFB President.
You may resubmit a past candidate who has not previously won the award. The Selection Committee will be comprised of three representatives of the Illinois CCA Board plus two members of the Illinois Farm Bureau Board of Directors.
Nominations must be submitted online by 4:00pm on Monday, October 1st. If you have any questions, please contact Lyndsey Ramsey, Illinois Farm Bureau, at 309-557-3279 or lramsey@ilfb.org. You can also contact Lisa Muirhead Martin, IL CCA Board, at 815-844-6677 or lisam.martin@frontier.com.
