Application instructions
Please fill out fields in the form below. Project description and mission statement can be entered in the appropriate spaces below or uploaded as one document (pdf preferred). A budget is also required, either uploaded as a separate document or included as a separate section in the project description. Additional files are not required but could include sketch or map of the area.

All proposals require:
1) A project description
Include (in 1- 2 pages, 2 pages maximum)
· Background information on your group or organization
· Description of the site and any work already completed or underway
· Sources of guidance, advice, and other funding, if applicable
· Proposed project and plan to implement (ie soil preparation, invasive removal, etc)
· If planting, maintenance plan while plants establish
2) A statement on how your work relates to the NCNPS mission:
"to promote the enjoyment and conservation of North Carolina’s native plants and their habitats through education, protection, cultivation, and advocacy"
3) Plant list if purchasing plants/seeds (can be combined with budget)
· List must include scientific names
4) A budget justification
· Itemized budget and include a brief description for non-plant and soil items (ie pesticide applicator, travel, educational materials, carpentry, etc) if applicable
· For plants/seeds prices, also include vendor(s)
5) Design sketch - recommended but not required for projects with plantings
· Can be a general sketch or highly detailed

Proposals are reviewed by committee and applicants will be informed of their decision by November 1st. Proposals are evaluated on the description of the project, implementation and maintenance plan, consistency with NCNPS mission, and potential impact, both educational and ecological. If you are awarded a grant, you will be required to submit a grant report and photo(s) at the end of the project timeline.
