The Big Event!
The Fourth Annual Crofton Chili Cook-off
In the first year, we saw a variety of chilies ... venison chili, white chili, and even a chocolate chili; in the second year, the contestants brought some heat; and in the third year Shiner Bock beer was the secret ingredient that took the top spot. Who will be the new Crofton Chili Cook-off Champion? Are you ready for some chili?
Crofton’s fourth annual chili cook-off will be hosted by the Crofton Rotary Club, the Crofton Farmers Market, and Living in the Triangle magazine on Wednesday, October 17th, from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. at the Crofton Farmers' Market (at the Crofton Country Club). There are two awards that will be given:
· Crofton Chili Cook-Off Champion
· Crofton Chili Cook-Off People's Choice
The event will benefit the Crofton Christian Caring Council's Food Pantry, which provides food for families in need and the homeless ... last year they provided 4,000 bags of groceries to 1800 households in the Greater Crofton and Odenton area. Attendees can make a $5 donation or donate a packaged food item (no perishables please) and try each delicious chili and submit their ballot for the People's Choice Award.
Chili entries will be judged by our panel of gourmands at 6:00 p.m. to decide who wins the 2018 Crofton Chili Cook-Off Championship, and awards will be made at 6:45 p.m.
Participation in the contest is free for entrants. Contestants should reserve their place in the contest by registering at https://croftonchamber.com/events or by writing to email@example.com. We suggest registering early, but please register no later than October 15th.
Come join Crofton Rotary Club, Living in the Triangle, and the Crofton Farmers Market for our biggest event of the year and help make a difference for those who need a little help!
