Thank you for your interest in having the parish community of the Cathedral of Saint Paul be a part of your family's religious education. Please read through the following carefully before beginning the registration process.
REGISTRATION
Registration for religious education at the Cathedral for the 2022-2023 program year will be done online. If you have no internet access or would prefer to register over the phone, please contact Sue Kruchten skruchten@cathedralsaintpaul.org; (651-357-1325) to complete the registration process.
In addition to demographic information, you will need to have sacramental information ready for each child, as appropriate (date and place of reception of Baptism, First Reconciliation, and/or First Communion).
Parents of Homeschool and Catholic School students who are doing sacramental preparation as a part of their academic/scholastic program will please register their children using this form. Having this information will ensure that the Cathedral staff will be aware that your children are preparing for the sacraments and enable the exchange of necessary communications concerning preparation to receive the sacraments at the appropriate time.
Please note that your registration is not complete until you have been contacted by the Cathedral with a confirmation of registration and an invoice for the appropriate fees.

Each additional child $0
Sacramental prep fee $25/child
Once your registration has been received and verified, you will be sent an invoice detailing the amount of payment due and payment procedures. Please note that we are continuing the option to pay online. More details on this option will be found on the invoice.
THE ROLE OF PARENTS
The Catechism of the Catholic Church states,
The Christian home is the place where children receive the first proclamation of the faith. For this reason the family home is rightly called "the domestic church," a community of grace and prayer, a school of human virtues and of Christian charity. (§ 1666)
The Cathedral parish fully supports the Church’s vision of the parents’ responsibility as the primary instructors of their children in the faith, and we hope to work alongside parents in raising faith-filled children dedicated to Christ and his Church. If you are looking for ideas of how to carry on religious education at home, please talk with one of our children’s catechists or the parish staff.
SACRAMENTAL PREPARATION: In compliance with Archdiocesan guidelines, the Cathedral only offers sacramental preparation (First Communion/Confirmation) for its own registered, full parishioners. We encourage all families of other parishes to pursue sacramental preparation in their home parish.
SPECIAL NOTE FOR FIRST COMMUNION PREPARATION: In order to register your child for First Communion preparation, they must be seven (7) years old on or before September 1, 2022.
